Historic Santa Fe Foundation and La Sala de Galisteo Window Restoration Workshop

Join Historic Santa Fe Foundation and La Sala de Galisteo Arts Center for a one-day, hands-on window restoration workshop at San José Hall in Galisteo at La Sala de Galisteo Arts Center, 5637 NM-41, Galisteo, NM 87540 on Sunday, July 14 from 10am-4pm.

Participants will be guided through the process of assessing, removing, repairing and re-installing two sets of historic wooden window sash (don’t know what part is the sash? You will learn that in this workshop!), with opportunities to try their hand at the various steps. Class size is limited, so reserve your space early.

Workshop cost is $75, tools and supplies included. Participants must wear close-toed shoes and clothing appropriate for getting a little messy. Please bring a lunch.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:
Mara Saxer is the Preservation Specialist at Historic Santa Fe Foundation. She oversees the Foundation’s properties, easements and hands-on building education programs. Prior to returning to her hometown of Santa Fe, she specialized in window and door restoration in New England. She received her Masters of Architecture and Certificate of Preservation Studies from Tulane University.

The Historic Santa Fe Foundation is a nonprofit organization whose mission is is to preserve, protect and promote the historic properties and diverse cultural heritage of the Santa Fe area, and to educate the public about Santa Fe's history and the importance of preservation.
