MAC WATSON FELLOWSHIP
HSFF’s launched Mac Watson Fellowship in 2019 in honor of the many contributions that Watson has made to the historical and architectural preservation of Santa Fe and Northern New Mexico. The purpose of the Fellowship is to assist students in fields relating to cultural resource management to gain experience in researching and identifying significant cultural properties in the Santa Fe area. The Fellow works with the Foundation to identify and research significant historic properties in the Santa Fe area and to compose and submit nominations to the HSFF Register of Properties Worthy of Preservation (Register). MEEM TRADES INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
HSFF’s Faith and John Gaw Meem Preservation Trades Internship is a long-standing program that permits a qualified student or recent graduate of architecture, planning, design, or a similar field to gain hands-on experience in the theory and practice of preservation by working with foundation staff and board members. This is a paid 10-week internship focuses on establishing or expanding the skills of the intern in the traditional crafts, especially those essential for the appropriate conservation of the Southwest’s unique vernacular and earthen architecture.
