“An Anthropologist Meets Santa Fe New Age”
Join us in the Garden at El Zaguán for our traditional Annual Members Meeting. We will present an overview of progress made by the Foundation during the past year and a look at direction for the coming 12 months. As usual, we will present an interesting short lecture, followed by light refreshments and discussion with staff and Board Directors.
This year’s talk will be presented by Michael F. Brown and titled An Anthropologist Meets Santa Fe New Age. It is based on research done by Doctor Brown for his book The Channeling Zone: American Spirituality in an Anxious Age. This book brings "serious historical and comparative perspective" drawn from his previous field work with Amazonian Indians.
Michael F. Brown, PhD, taught at Williams College for thirty plus years before taking his position as President of the School for Advanced Research. He has published six books and numerous academic and popular press articles.
