Exhibiting artists Mary Olson, Wendy Fay, Julia Tait Dickenson, and Liza Hale Doyle will participate in a casual discussion with HSFF Gallery Manager Anne Kelly, followed by a Q&A with the audience. Topics include “being in place,” collaboration, the creative process, and their use of diverse materials.

Hand Made Book Workshop with Ingrid Ellison

Advance registration is required.
Join us for a one-day workshop to create a small handheld book with guidance from Ingrid Ellison. You’ll choose cover papers and fabrics, construct your book, and personalize it with painting and drawing. Creative prompts will be provided, or you can find inspiration in the beautiful native garden at the El Zaguán
This workshop is open to adults, no experience is necessary. Everything needed to complete a book will be provided for this workshop.
Materials will include, watercolors, gouache, colored pencils and pens, paint markers, paper and textile collage materials, and more.
Brushmaking Workshop

Exhibiting artist Julia Tait Dickenson of Thin Air Goods will instruct two separate workshops. Participants will learn, make, and take home two simple tampico brush structures: a mini broom involving wrapping and stitching and a local cholla paintbrush. Tools and materials are included.
