Please join us for a presentation and workshop on traditional limewash, its history, and uses in New Mexico. Limewash is a natural mineral coating that has been used for thousands of years around the globe as a protective and breathable finish coat to preserve and maintain earthen structures including Adobe buildings. The presentation and hands-on workshop will be conducted by Mac Watson, building preservationist and HSFF Property Committee member, and Jacob Sisneros, HSFF Preservation Projects and Programs Manager. Participants will learn the preparation, mixing, and application of traditional limewash on an actual adobe wall at HSFF’s El Zaguán.
