Call for Entries
The Historic Santa Fe Foundation (HSFF) invites artists to participate in an exhibition of paintings in watercolor and/or gouache inspired by the walls and fences of Northern New Mexico. With this event, the HSFF hopes to encourage a broader knowledge and appreciation of the rich cultural and architectural heritage that is preserved in Santa Fe.
Entry Deadline: October 3, 2016
Notification of Selections
Participants will be notified if selected by October 21, 2016.
Delivery Date
All selected works must be delivered to HSFF, 545 Canyon Road, Suite 2 by Monday, November 28th from 10am-2pm.
Exhibition Dates
The exhibition will open December 2, 2016 with a reception inEl Zaguángallery of the HSFF located at 545 Canyon Road, Suite 2, Santa Fe. The exhibition will run through January 4, 2017.
Entry Rules
Each work in watercolor/gouache must be based on one of the richly textured and historically significant built features in the Northern New Mexican landscape. The Historic Santa Fe Foundation has a Registry list of over 80 significant historic structures and sites which may provide inspiration for the artists are available on the HSFF website www.historicsantafe.org.
Participation is open and there is no cost to submit entries.
Guidelines for submission
- Entrants can submit up to 3 watercolors/gouache on the theme of walls and fences
- Images must be at least 800 pixels (8 inches) on the longest side and 72dpi
- Images must be .jpg, each image should be labeled with the artists last name and first name, for example SmithJane1.jpg, SmithJane2.jpg, and SmithJane3.jpg.
- Artists must email the images as attachments to office@historicsantafe.org by October 3, 2016 The body of email must contain specifications for each work as follows:

All paintings entered must be no larger than 24” x 24” framed. Participants will be notified if selected by October 21, 2016.
Delivery of Artwork
Selected artworks should be delivered to the Historic Santa Fe Foundation on November 29 by 4 pm. Works must be framed or able to be hung safely on a wall (glass is OK). Most works will be carefully labeled on the back of the framed piece with a removable piece of paper with the artist name, title of the work, dimensions framed and price. More details about this will follow in an email if selected.
Sales
Artist will price the framed work and painters will receive 80% of the sale price while 20% will be a tax-deductible donation to the Historic Santa Fe Foundation.
